Using this site
This site is a free reference tool for converting yarn weights, gauges, and thread sizes. You're welcome to use it for personal or commercial craft projects.
Accuracy
We source what we can from the Craft Yarn Council's published standard and label clearly where a figure is a community convention instead. Even so, actual yarn gauge varies by brand, fiber, and individual tension — always swatch before starting a project. We provide this tool as-is, without a guarantee that every number will match every yarn you use.
No liability for project outcomes
We're not responsible for a project turning out differently than expected because of a substitution, gauge mismatch, or yardage estimate made using this site.
Content ownership
The site's design and written content belong to us. The underlying yarn weight standard itself belongs to the Craft Yarn Council — we link to their published standard rather than claim it as our own.
